Out here, the only thing
that refreshes is the sky.
A wall of glass onto Fitz Roy, the stove a step away, and nothing buzzing on the nightstand.
There's no
signal here.
No wifi, no data, no small rectangle buzzing in your pocket. What you hear is the stove, the wind in the lengas, and the stream running behind the domes.
It isn't an oversight; it's the point. Power comes from the sun, through a USB port; everything else can wait. What we give back is something that has become almost impossible to find: whole days with no one interrupting you.
Postcards you won't be able to send.
With no signal, the photos will have to wait. In the meantime, this is what lies around your dome.

Between one dome and the next, forest.

And a walk away, the ice.

The hot tub, for after the walk.
Nine kilometers to the lake, nine back. And at the end, two wooden tubs heated over a wood fire, out in the open air, facing the mountains.

Tired legs, hot water.

We came when
there was only forest here.
We were among the first to stay the night on this side of the valley, fifteen kilometers from town, where the pavement ends and the road to the mountain begins.
It all began with a simple question: how do you welcome people to a place like this without harming it? The answer was light domes on eight hectares of lenga forest and streams, power from the sun, wood fires, and a decision to leave the noise of the city behind.
Our story

A table
facing the mountain.
Seventy-eight square meters of wood and glass facing Fitz Roy. Breakfast here comes before the trail and dinner after it, with a glass of red and the mountain in the window. Outside, by the fire, Patagonian lamb roasts slowly for hours.
Everything you need to know.
Being far away is the luxury. Getting here easily is on us.
We're 15 km from El Chaltén on Route 41, on the way to Lago del Desierto. For stays of 2 nights or more there is a complimentary transfer from the Patagonia Hikes office (Arrúa 505): arrival between 2 and 5 pm, return at 10 am. Please request it 48 hours in advance. If you prefer, we can call you a taxi.
Really, and on purpose. No cell service, no internet: let the people who matter know before you come. Without a connection, some card payments may not go through, so it's worth planning for.
Each dome has its own solar power, at 12 V, so you'll find USB ports. To charge anything that doesn't run on USB, there are the shared domes.
It depends on the rate: some include full board, which adds a three-course dinner in the Dining Dome (drinks are extra). If you have any dietary restrictions, let us know and the kitchen will adapt.
Check-in from 3 pm. Check-out by 10 am, in time to set out on the trail.
Pets are not allowed. Guests under 18 stay in the same dome as an adult.
